In general you should not scratch any operated area, the skin is much more sensitive and more prone to infections if the stitches are touched or broken, and even if the wound is not cleansed appropriately, or the bandages are dirty, or not changed on a regular basis.
In case you have scratched the operated area (this can also occur involuntarily, while sleeping), your main concern should be that of creating a scar, or worsen the one that has already appeared or you may even trigger an infection, as the scab that forms acts like a protective layer for the sensitive skin. You should probably see a GP or a private dermatologist to make sure that none of the above mentioned issues become a reality and at Renew Skin and Health Clinic we can assure you that your needs will be adequately tended to, so feel free to contact us at any time as we will provide you with all the information and care you may require.
